In Africa, we have a culture of children taking care of their parents when the children come of age. Every country that was colonized are children to the country that colonized her, and going by the African culture, at this age , the African nations are supposed to be taking care of their parents, and if they are not doing this, then what is the sense behind celebrating independence day each year. How ironic the statement “children are tomorrow leaders” are we not of age now to take the lead? Or are our parents not yet old? For example: United Kingdom was founded in may1st 1707- (From Wikipedia), they are parent to the country called Nigeria, Nigeria got her independence from parent country on October 1st 1960. wake up Africa!!!
