facebook.comTHE LIVING WATER -CAC DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2017 TOPIC: AWAITING DISSOLUTION TEXT: 2 PETER 3:10-18 MEMORISE: Since everything will be destroyed in this way. what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives (2 Peter 3:11) Most people spend their lives, gathering trinkets, all of which will someday be dissolved and consumed by tire, ultimately. The God who formed every visible thing out of atoms, would one day release them from their responsibilities, for a time. and allow all things to be dissolved. Even though the Rapture of the Church, the Tribulation and the one-thousand year reign of Christ on Earth would precede this event, it is good to be reminded that everything we see about us is temporary and will soon be dissolved. In view of this, wise people look for better investments than can be found on the planet earth. Jesus says, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; V.20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matthew 6 : 19-20). Peter said that the coming dissolution of all things calls for holy living, on our parts. What an object lesson! Every Sign of decay is to remind us of our Holy God and our responsibility to live in His holy will that is never burdensome. Every sign of rust on our automobiles is a message to us that we live holy. Every building that is falling apart and returning to the earth is a reminder that we should be holy in our conduct, knowing fully well that we return to the mother earth soonest, if Christ tarries. Someone once said: “There‘s only one life; It will soon be past; Only what's done for Christ will last.” What do you possess that cannot and won't be dissolved in the eternal inferno that would engulf the world at the end of the day? Why wasting all the time on these ephemeral things, then? PRAYER POINTS 1. Lord Jesus, please forgive me for living my life outside of You, in the past. 2. Pray for the grace to be consecrated to God in holy living. 3. Pray for our leaders that they may realise that the position they occupy now is but for a short time, regardless of how long they stay put, and so would consider their latter end. The Sexual Fast! So inspiring write up. Daughter: (Coughs out) Hmmm…It is well o Mum: (looks up at her, then continues picking her beans) Any gist for momma? Daughter:( Looks at her) Mum, I think I am not normal anymore…like, I am sick Mum: (Chuckles) Ojo to’ju ba ri’bi ni bii’wole. Sickiii ke! Why? Daughter: Because I am over-sensitive. Whenever I see a guy, I have this weird feeling compared to when I meet a girl. Mum, I get worried often times if I would scale through adolescence without defiling myself Mum: (Laughs) you are afraid? Daughter: It seems you don’t understand mum. When I see a guy’s bicep, oh my God! If he mistakenly exposes his abs, then I would almost faint, feeling as if I should run into his strong, muscular arms and be cuddled. Mum: And so? That’s why you are not normal? Daughter: (Eyes widens) Mum! Mum: That shows that you are very normal my baby girl Daughter: I don’t understand ma Mum: You fasted recently shae? Daughter: Yes mum. A three-day dry fast Mum: There was on an occasion that I prepared plantain and fried egg for dinner for the family. How did you feel that day? Daughter: Mum, it was sensational! As if I had never tasted dodo before. I wanted a bite so bad. Mum: So, why didn’t you get into the kitchen to get yourself some? Daughter: Mum, I was fasting Mum: Nice one! Son, can you hear us from there? Put off the TV please Son: Ok mum. Mum: As an adolescent boy or girl, don’t think it weird when you are attracted to an opposite sex. His or her stature or the likes might appeal to you. It shows that you are very normal. You wouldn’t say, you are abnormal because you can perceive the aroma of dodo while you were fasting. Would you? Both: No mum Mum: All unmarried people in this world are on a sexual fast or at least, that’s how it was supposed to be. Different dodo, juices, fried fish, chicken; Shawarma and the likes would appeal to them clothed in handsome men and beautiful women of different carriage but block your perception! You are fasting! Daughter: (nods repeatedly) Hmmm…I am getting it now Mum: the aroma could be pornography, sexy boys and girls, devilish games and all but be warned, you are what? Both: Fasting! Mum: So my daughter, you are as normal as anything. It means all the parts of your body are responding well but the Bible says you should keep your body under! Daughter: Mum, for real, I can’t thank you enough. I expected you to shout at me and tie your scarves round your waist, stamping your feet on the floor saying ‘Omo yi ti pa mi’ but no! You are trustworthy and I can count on you. And that is why mum is our… (Signals to the boy) Son: Confidant! (Both laugh) Daughter: Bro, c’mon chop knuckle (They did) Mum: (Smiles) Blessed children…very very blessed! Both: most blessed mother Mum: But never forget the lesson learnt today…(expects an answer) Both: We are fasting! Mum: Yes. The fast would soon be over and your dish of dodo, freshly prepared with well garnished fried egg with a chill bottle of wine would be delivered to you but first, wait! Say, I will wait Both: I will wait! Mum: And the Lord will bless you. Both: Amen (They hug their mother and she blesses them both) Keep Sharing until it gets to every eye and the Lord will bless you real good. Let's be such a parent to our blessed children.

The Living Water - CAC Daily Devotional Guide Wednesday, February 8, 2017 DEFACED BUT NOT DESERTED! READ PSALM 126:1-6 MEMORISE: The LORD has done great things for us, and we are glad. (Psalm 126:3) Sorrow, indeed may endure for a night, but joy is assured in the morning (Psa 126:6). The ancient Israel was a nation specially and unquestionably loved by God. Though a small country, compared to other nations, they were powerful and dreaded by other nations because, God was always with them. God did not mind wiping out nations, kingdoms and their kings in order to pave way for His children to the Promised Land (Exo 3:7-10). These people were also surrounded by nations who were mostly hostile. Yet, they were invincible. Meanwhile, God, merciful and gracious, never failed to discipline them whenever they erred. He devised so many punitive measures to deal with their recalcitrance with the aim of getting back their attention. Unfortunately, they had to go to exile, after God had serially warned them through His Prophets, but they would not yield! (Jer. 6:16) Israel suffered devastations, defilements, dehumanisation and deaths due to their disobedience. However, God again in His infinite mercies remembered His people and the promise He made to them. He still restored them to their land though, it was badly in ruins! The enemies had been allowed to deface the Israelite Commonwealth, but these people were not deserted by God. Dear reader, it does not matter how defaced you are. The enemies might have battered you spiritually, materially, socially and economically, due to your disobedience to God. What matters is that you return and repent, today. He still loves you; He is willing to restore you, for though He allows the enemies to deface you, yet, He won't allow you to either be deserted or destroyed. PRAYER POINTS: 1. Oh Lord, empower me to stand firm in you, to avoid going into captivity in Jesus' name. 2. God, protect and preserve the prisoners, let them repent and return in Jesus' name. 3. Lord, don't let Your Church exhaust Your patience and benevolence. EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: Luke 1 Good morning to you all. May the anointing for greatness and favour on you and family, in Jesus' name (Amen) Jesus is coming very soon. Do make amends before it's too late. Shalom
