LUC staff are making headlines! Research led by LUC staff (dr. Paul Behrens, Tijmen Nanninga (Class of '16) and dr. Bríd Walsh) made headlines with a publication in prestigious Nature Energy on the consequences of climate change on electricity production. Leiden University College welcomes Schilderswijk University

Last month we welcomed Schilderswijk University The Hague to our campus. In true interdisciplinary fashion, the prospective students learned about fish, recycling, taste and nutrition, and the European Union. LUC was happy to welcome Schilderswijk University because, as Dean Judi Mesman puts it, "for LUC it is important to not be an isolated island in the city of The Hague, but to really connect and be part of the community." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW18io83gUY

Every year at 8 pm on 4 May, the Dutch commemorate civilians and soldiers who have died in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the world since the outbreak of the Second World War, both in war situations and in peacekeeping missions, with two minutes of silence. Tomorrow 5 May we celebrate Liberation day or Freedom day with multiple events and festivals around different cities in the country, with everyone joining and celebrating freedom!
