Welcome to International School Eerde. We make exclusive education personal. Founded in 1934, the International School Eerde is the only International Boarding School in the Netherlands. The school offers numerous programmes tailored to the individual needs of each student, including children with learning difficulties and dyslexia, as well as highly gifted children. Eerde carefully monitors the personal, academic, athletic and creative development of each individual student ages 4 to 19.
Eerde accepts students on the Dutch primary school level, VMBO, HAVO and VWO levels. The school offers the internationally recognised diploma courses Cambridge Primary, Cambridge CS1, Cambridge CS2 (IGCSE), International Baccalaureate (IB) and comprises both a day school and international boarding school.
Classes are small; the 135 students receive individual supervision from 25 teachers. This means that the students can attend the programme that suits them best.
International School Eerde is housed in a magnificent castle built in 1715, located in the woods near Ommen. The place might look centuries old but has a contemporary policy. For example, every student has his own laptop with wireless access to on-line planning, thereby allowing him to view his tasks and assignments at any time. The on-line monitoring system also allows parents to keep close track of their children's achievements.

Last Friday students of CS1 went to the animal shelter Dierenopvang de Crull in Den Ham, where they were assisting by cleaning and taking care of the animals. International School Eerde has an afternoon Chess Club, one of the many activities we offer. On Monday afternoon enthusiastic Chess players compete against each other and try new strategies to outsmart the opponent player. Chess is all about stretching the limits of your thinking skills.

{ International School Eerde is the only school in the Netherlands accepting private candidates} International School Eerde is licensed to conduct all Cambridge exams, these vary form Checkpoints in Cambridge secondary 1 to most IGCSE subjects in Cambridge Secondary 2 and also most A level and AS level subjects in Cambridge Advanced. Through the years we have seen an influx of private candidates. A private candidate is someone not attending/following our programme but is a so-called exam only candidate. Next to the exam series, we can at request offer boarding facilities and/or private tutoring per hour. International School Eerde partner of Rijksmuseum The Rijksmuseum and International School Eerde will as of today develop educational programmes to attune the Art and Design curricula of international schools. The agreement was signed today in the "Teekenschool" of the Rijksmuseum.
