Visiting the blonde Hungarian (imported in 2014, Bacska & Halmaj boar line) and Austrian (1st offspring of the in 2010 imported ) Mangalitsas at Justin's farm in Greensboro Georgia and giving some input: Talking with Chris and Jon about the phenotype of the different Mangalitsa lines, the breeding stock and how to select the best. We also talked about the DNA registration (collecting hair-samples) that we will start from the breed and tagging system as well as the certification of the animals. More about all that later after we come back from the 2 weeks traveling and talking with more breeders. Talking about feeding, diet, slaughter and lots of other things concerning the breed. Guess it was very interesting for all of us! Here a little glimpse of it.....
