Did you know… Captain Morgan is not only just a rum, but also a legend. �Sir Henry Morgan (as he was known) was one of the greatest captains of his time (16th century). Known and feared for his cunning and bold way of warfare, he successfully plundered and sacked many settlements in the Caribbean. Sometimes as a privateer fighting under the flag of the English crown, and sometimes as a pirate for his own personal gain. His biggest raids were against Haiti, Panama and Venezuela; at the time all Spanish territory. Since England and Spain weren't the biggest of friends, England offered Morgan to become Luitenant Governor of Jamaica. He stayed there until his death on the 25th of August 1688. Upon his death, an unusual amnesty was declared so that pirates and privateers could pay their last respects on his funeral without fear of arrest. Almost 4 years later a massive earthquake struck the island, sinking a part of the cemetery where Morgan had his final resting place. Op 11 april was onze trainer Roy Meijer in de gezellige historische stad Delft te gast bij Café de Oude Jan Op het gezelligste pleintje van Delft staat de oude kerk, ook wel de Oude Jan genoemd, die dateert uit 1246. Vlak daar tegenover vind je Cafe Oude Jan. In dit kleine knusse cafe serveert men vooral lekkere bieren van de tap, verschillende soorten whisky’s en perfecte Diageo Mixed drinks! Het weer zag er goed uit deze avond dus werd de training op hun grote terras gegeven. ISAAC’s cocktail of the month: Milano Acido Tonico There is much more use for tonic waters besides G&T’s. Why not try tonic to top of your favorite cocktail? Just keep in mind the botanicals you taste in your tonic fits the flavors of your drink or spirits. Trying is key! Fernet Branca works wonderful with the Spanish Indi&Co Tonic water. Recipe: 45 ml Fernet Branca 30 ml Freshly squeezed lemon juice 25 ml Homemade fig syrup Top of Indi & Co Tonic water Shake all ingredients part from tonic water with ice and fine strain into a chilled longdrink glass. Top of with Indi & Co Tonic water. Garnish with lemon zest and dried fig slices. #isaacacademy #cocktail #inditonic #fernetbranca #fernet
