Lucilinburhuc ASBL
Description
We are a reenactment and living history group from Benelux. Our reconstructions start at 600 BC to 1500 AD. We work mostly with museums and museum farms. Our members try to reconstruct the past as accurate as possible. We allways try to stay as close as possbilbe to the actual historical and archaeological publications.
Our members can choose a period or culture between 600 BC to 1500 AD. The orgaisation has just one commitment, that the reconstruction is historical accurate. So we show handcraft with historical tools and techniques, daily life and warfare. Most of our members represent the early medieval period. But we have late medieval and some celts and early germanic reconstructions too.

A nice week in Hedeby.
This week-end our members of Lucilinburhuc builded a historical smelting oven to make our own iron by the historical method. As you can see, we just used bellows, charcoal and local iron ore to produce our iron. We still made some faults, so the quantity is not as hight as possible. We won 3kg of bloom. Next time we will optimize the process for a larger bloom. But we have iron, so it was a success. Special thanks to Romain Bohr for his support!

Finaly our prototype for an early medieval (500-800 AD) arming doublet arrived. There are just a few details, which has to be corrected but the prototype is fully functional, and exacly what we were looking for. The prototype is standard padded, the next versions will be padded with 12 to 18 layers linen and some models will be covered with leather, to protect the linen from the sharp edges of the coat of mail.
