Hello everyone! Our treasurer and I spent some time at the shelter today. We did lots of planning and discussing about upcoming events for PAWS! One of the things that we would like to see happen is a landscape change for the shelter! I would like to get the building painted another color, have the grass mowed, the dog run cleaned up, and possibly have a new flower bed to brighten up the place! I would really like this to be done when it starts warming up and am thinking the first weekend of May. Would there be anyone interested in helping? If you are interested in volunteering for PAWS please contact us at USSkittytalk.yokosuka@gmail.com Also, on May 14th, we will be setting up a table in the red brick area along with the NEX who is hosting a pet show. We would like to have a bake sale. We want to know if anyone would be willing to assist in donating some baked goodies for this. Please, let us know if you can! Lastly, we would like our community to know that they can support PAWS by purchasing PAWS shirts, hats, and water bottles that can be purchased from the board members at the event on the event of May 14th in the red brick area. All proceeds will go tot he shelter! Just stop by our booth to show your support! Thanks everyone!

Thanks to all those who visited PAWS for our January adoption event. We are pleased to announce that ALL animals were paired with families. Our shelter will re-open when we receive more animals. Spring kitten season is around the corner! If you are on base and notice a litter of kittens, please contact PAWS and we will assist with the rescue process.
The first 2016 PAWS adoption event will take place on Saturday, January 23rd at 11am. The PAWS Board is thrilled to hear from so many families who are eager to adopt at this event. We are committed to pairing each animal with his or her perfect "forever family." Due to the numerous inquiries, this adoption event will NOT offer same-day adoptions. Each family will have the opportunity to submit an adoption application for the animal they prefer. The Board will consider all applications and notify families within one week. We appreciate your patience as we have worked to plan this event. See you at PAWS!
How to Make a Feral Cat Shelter
Have you been bundling up to survive the wintry temperatures? Feral cats must brave the cold on their own and often resort to dangerous hiding places to seek refuge. How about helping them out by building a feral shelter? This video tutorial is easy to follow and the materials are inexpensive. Set them out wherever you notice a feral colony. These cats will be very grateful!

They are enjoying the final weeks of foster care and will be available for adoption later this month. A date for the next PAWS adoption event is coming soon-- stay tuned!
