Hello helpers, guests & friends! We have been having a busy but very rewarding (& super fun!!) week here in the Kikkake House. 😉 Helpers have been experiencing life in Japan by helping to clean up and brainstorm ideas for the renovation of the new house – keep tuned to for more updates because it will look great! The house is in the heart of Tokoname, a pottery town where you can learn first-hand with locals how to make your own pottery piece and visit cool shops and the giant statue of Tokonyan (a 3.8m height maneki-neko that forever watches over the town with its giant eyes!). Last week we had lots of fun learning how to prepare delicious peach juice with Amazake (a type if non-alcoholic sake) and dumplings to sell at a local market. We have also helped with the design of the posters for the event and had a great time meeting and talking to the community and visitors – everyone was so friendly and loved the tasty food and juice! 😊 We will leave bellow some photos for you guys to take a peak on how fun like has been in Fuki! 超熟 | Discovered the long fermented shoku-pan. Toast in a happy face toaster and serve with Hokkaido butter. Pairs well with coffee hand-roasted by a different neighbor each morning. 😛🍞☕️

Still totally plugged in and plenty busy, but that doesn't quite negate the amazing clarity that comes with getting far away from any city with just a bike and a backpack, and rising to the sound of rain drops.
