The passion of a Generation to build a stronger Europe.  European Generation is a students’ society founded by students of Bocconi University in 2013.
E.G. is directed to all Bocconi students and in particular those born in the 1990s who inherited the Union born with the Maastricht treaty. Our objective is therefore to understand the Union’s structures, rules but most of all to recollect the great ideals which generated the project of European unification.
In the present crisis of state sovereignty, the entire body politic lacks coordination and vision of the future, resulting in the political havoc we have witnessed in the past years. Now more than ever we need to reopen the discussion on the European Union’s foundations and question the widespread notion that it has lost its propulsive power. Today’s political leaders, absorbed in issues of national relevance, are heedless to the necessity of further integration in the Union and often describe it as an obstacle to economic development rather than an extraordinary opportunity of success. We have in the past organised lectures and conferences in our university with the help of professors and guest lecturers. The themes treated were many, ranging from the European social system to the consequences of the crisis on future integration and the problem of sovereignty in Europe. We want to organise similar events for all the length of the academic year to encourage the knowledge and discussion of European issues amongst students. Our meetings will focus on these topics and many more, as we wil organise the mas debite open to questions and opinions of the public such as to stimulate each participant to express his opinions freely.

"[...] people are now putting their faith into Mr Macron and his fresh, innovative attitude to restart the engine of the European integration on the axis between Paris and Berlin and breath life into the European project that has been stalled in the recent years, plagued by the loss of confidence and trustworthiness from its own citizens in a string of lost referenda on treaties, opt-outs from European policies, Brexit referendum and finally a weak, disunited and divisive response to the migration crisis that fueled the (now-stopped) rise of populist movements in Europe". Today our Tomas Dvorak wants to share his opinions and hopes about the new French President Emmanuel Macron with us. Will he be able to represent a turning point in the integration process? Is that possible that the leader that Europe was desperately looking for has finally emerged? Roam Like at Home, “a small step for Europe, one giant leap for us”

"...today marks the formal end to any roaming charge across European countries. That might seem a rather small accomplishment and some of you may even think: “why did they take so much time for such thing?”; however, it represents the turning point in a decade long process of convergence of roaming costs, started in 2007..." Europe: The Easy Target | European Generation - Bocconi Students Association

Last week we were shaken by the horrendous act of terror that hit Manchester. With similar attacks now seemingly becoming something of a regularity, what approach should the EU adopt to prevent them? Is there any way out of this difficult and precarious situation? And why does Europe now seem to be the primary target for terrorists instead of the US? Read the excellent article by Vanisha Sampat offering some perspectives on the current situation and the future development of terrorism in Europe.
