Description
NYU's study abroad location in Florence is Villa La Pietra, a 15th century 57 acre estate incorporating five villas, renowned formal gardens, olive groves, art collection and museum. Bequeathed to the University by Sir Harold Acton in 1994, the campus is situated on a hillside about a 20 minute walk or short bus ride from the city center. Students are housed both on campus in Villa Natalia or Villa Colletta, in downtown NYU leased accommodation or in homestay accommodation. On campus facilities include a cafeteria, computer lab, student lounge, small gym and laundry rooms among other amenities. Academic facilities include multimedia-equipped classrooms, a screening room, two computer labs, a reference library, and a second cafeteria with terrace.
