Another day of feis fun was had at the Yvonne Saul Memorial Feis on Sunday. It might not have been the day of relaxation and pampering that our lovely mammies deserved on their special day, but hopefully their dancers' smiles made up for it! Great day of dancing by all with every dancer bringing a haul of prizes back to Wicklow. Some highlights in the grades included all our Bunghrád dancers placing, Layla winning her last Bunghrád dance, Christina's first perpetual trophy, and Lily dancing Meanghrád for the first time and winning two medals! Our advanced dancers Kirsty, Orla and Aoife Marie finished off the day in style, with 1st places for all three as well as championship placings and a championship win for Aoife Marie. Big well done to the 15 girls and their families who attended - especially their wonderful mammies and grannies!💖

Last weekend was a busy one for Scoil Rince na Mara with the Irish Open Qualifying Feis in Navan on Saturday and the Paula Gaughran Memorial Feis in Stillorgan on Sunday. Fantastic results for our girls all weekend but special mention to Saoirse B who qualified for the Irish Open on Saturday and then won her first trophy on Sunday! Other first places won by Abaigael, Amy Jane, Aoife, Christina, Eimear and Orla. Big well done also to Shauna on placing in Ardghrad at only her second attempt, and to Saoirse F for getting her "first second medal" in Bunghrád, as she so aptly put it! Thank you to the Carolan School of Irish Dancing for hosting a great feis as always. Super dancing and great improvements from all our dancers over the two days, which is very encouraging as we begin the countdown to the Irish Open Championships. Hopefully this week's snow days have been put to good use and lots of extra practice has been squeezed in! Classes will resume as normal on Wednesday for those who are not still snowed in!😅☃️☘️

Some photos from our recent trip to Glasgow! We had a great time at the Scottish Open Championship Feis and brought home plenty of trophies and medals as souvenirs. Our suitcases were definitely a bit heavier on the flight home! Safe to say our first Scoil Rince na Mara trip was a success - and sure maybe we'll do it again some time!😊☘️😊

What an absolute cracker of a weekend it was for Scoil Rince na Mara at the Malahide Feis on Saturday and Sunday. Absolutely amazing results for our girls. Starting out with our little beginner Saoirse winning medals in all her dances at only her third feis. Continuing with super dancing from our Ullmhucháns and Meanghráds taking home armfuls of trophies and medals and moving up the grades! Finally finishing up with brilliant solo results and championship placings for all of our older girls, including a championship title for Aoife Marie! Next stop...Glasgow! Sixteen dancers and their families are travelling to the Scottish Open Championship Feis this weekend for our first SRNM trip! Wishing them all the very best of luck for a fun, successful weekend!☘️💙☘️

Great dancing from the 8 girls who made the trip to Wexford on Sunday for the South Leinster Féile. Didn't get photos of everybody but well done to Abaigael, Amy Jane, Aoife, Christina, Layla, Lily, Rachel and Zoe who brought home 9 trophies and 15 medals between them. Great performances by all but particular well done to Amy Jane moving out of two dances, Layla moving out of another Bunghrád, Rachel's first 1st in Meanghrád and Zoe placing in 3rd and 4th at only her second feis! Malahide feis is next on the calendar before we jet off to Glasgow for the Scottish Open Championship Feis in less than two weeks time! Exciting times ahead for the SRNM crew!

A fantastic start to 2018 for the Scoil Rince na Mara crew at the North Wicklow Championship Feis in Bray last week! Our beginners kicked off the day in huge competitions. For many of them this time last year was their first feis and their performances this year showed how much they have come on! Zoe joined them this year and took to the floor for her first feis like a pro. Medals all round and a great morning's work. Our Ullmhuchán and Meanghrád dancers then followed with some super dancing, resulting in multiple first places and dancers advancing to the next grade. It's going to be a busy few months ahead for them with lots of new steps to learn! Finishing off the day were our advanced dancers who also took home armfuls of trophies, cups and sashes. All in all a very successful day, topped off by a nice early finish thanks to the smooth running of the feis by the Claddagh School of Irish Dancing. Well done to all!
