All parents, caregivers, staff, teachers and special needs assistants are part of the Parent Teachers’ Association (PTA). All parents, caregivers, staff, teachers and special needs assistants are part of the Parent Teachers’ Association (PTA). The PTA Committee, along with Class Representatives, helps organise events that support the school community, fundraise and welcome and listen to parents’ ideas. You can get in touch through our Facebook page or contacting one of the PTA Committee members. The schedule of events and after-school classes and activities is always evolving. Watch for the school newsletters or the PTA Facebook page for updates.
We always want to hear from those who want to help, have ideas or have some time or skills to offer.

We will need all available parents to volunteer to run a station on Sports Day Thursday 8th and Friday 9th. (Try pairing up with another parent, and doing ‘one-half-on, one-half-off.’) Helpers: please come to the school 30 minutes before the starting time, for orientation (10.30am on June 8th, 11.15am on June 9th). Not available to run a station? Please help by walking your child (and the other children in her/his group) from station to station, as instructed. (Most help like this will be needed with the junior sports day.) And please help the volunteers at each station to run the activity.
Sports Day Junior Classes (Junior Infants to 2nd Classes)
Sports Day for the Junior classes (Junior Infants - 2nd Class) takes place Tuesday 13th June from 11am until 1.15pm. Venue: Playing Field at Creagh College Access: Through Gorey Educate Together only. The children should wear sturdy runners, suncream and bring an extra drink. School finishes at usual times or children can be collected from the CLASSROOM at the end of sports day (1.15pm).

Following on from last week's Internet Safety talk from the National Parent Council, the PTA would like to recommend http: //www.webwise.ie/parents Webwise Parents offers information, support and advice on talking to your child about online safety. Webwise also has a section for teachers and lots of other great resources. The website includes: Short videos offering advice on a range of topics such as: - introducing technology to your child, cyberbullying, dealing with conflict around technology use in the home and how parents can lead by example - Information on the latest Apps and social networks your child may be using - How to set up parental controls on PCs, smartphones, tablets and gaming systems
Internet Safety Talk for Parents
There will be a talk for parents on Internet Safety on Thursday night in the Activity Room at 7.30pm. Do you know what your children are doing online? Are you familiar with the platforms they are using? The talk will include practical tips to keep your children safe while online.
There will be a Buddy Walk near the school this Friday. Suggested donation €2 per child, send today or Fri. To help our pupils who lost belongings last week in House Fire.
