Is your glass separating from the frame of your iPhone? If so, your battery could very well be swollen and it is very important to deal with immediately. As I am seeing more and more of this issue arising over the last few months, I feel it is important to bring to light the dangers of a swollen battery and why it can occur after replacing an original battery. The use of industrial tape to place a new battery into any device can be extremely dangerous. Why is this? When a phone is subjected to hot and cold climates, or from heavy use, the tape which secures the battery to the rear casing will expand and contract if the incorrect tape is used. This will cause pulling on the external cover of the battery and over time it will cause the battery to open and swell. In most cases, if the issue is dealt with in time, the phone may be repairable but in some cases, the phone is not and could cause the phone to explode. I have included photos of a recent repair which was carried out on an iPhone 5c where the battery had swollen to the point where if it had expanded another cm or two, the battery would have exploded. As you can see, the single tape strip which was used to originally replace this battery was an industrial tape. This type of adhesive should never be used. If you require a battery replacement, it is advisable to ask your repair technician if the tape that will be used to place the battery into the phone is an original adhesive.
