The next step is to submit our application to the Irish Aviation Authority and we'll be fully operational and ready to serve the public. Thank you to Oisin McGrath and FlyRyte Drone Academy for providing expert tuition and guidance throughout. You can contact Colm on 087-3116341 for more information on the training options available.
At 2:30 a.m. this morning, WMSAR volunteers intervened when a person attempted to climb the railings at Millennium Plaza. The person was in a distressed state and intended to take their life by drowning. Volunteers stayed with the person and WMSAR rescue boat stayed in the area until the person was taken to safety by Gardai. All volunteers stood down and suicide prevention patrol completed at 3:15 am. Thank you to the attending Waterford An Garda Síochána officers for their prompt, compassionate and understanding handling of the situation.

We're delighted to announce that for a second year in a row Waterford Marine Search and Rescue, a 100% voluntarily run organisation will be one of the beneficiaries of the Cill Barra 5K Fun Run & Walk. This year we're also introducing a corporate challenge to our very popular community fun run & walk. Our corporate challenge is aimed at both beginners and seasoned runner’s. This will be the first 5K run challenge in Waterford for the business community. Our aim is to encourage people in the workplace to keep fit, or start to get fit and what better way to start then focusing on a fitness programme which targets a 5K run. Register as an individual either to do the walk or run, or enter with 4 of your work colleagues (teams can be all male, all female or mixed). We have adult sized t-shirts for the first 100 registered.
