NHI statement re Storm Emma Nursing Homes Ireland takes this opportunity to acknowledge, thank and commend the management and staff in nursing homes across the country who are undertaking huge personal sacrifices to meet the care needs of those entrusted in their care. Around 30,000 people in our nursing homes are dependent upon the committed staff who are focused upon meeting the clinical, health and social care needs of people who require round-the-clock care. Staff are making their way to nursing homes in treacherous conditions, displaying tremendous resilience and commitment towards the people in their care. We urge all staff to stay safe and express our gratitude to them for the person-centred care they are providing to nursing home residents today and on a continuous basis. The role they fulfil within our health services and wider society is of immense value. A time such as this presents opportunity to recognise their fantastic dedication, commitment and care.

Mary was put forward for the 2017 Spotlights as “her care of residents is second to none” at the private family owned Nursing and Residential Care Centre. Mary was nominated as fellow colleagues feel that the residents at Rockshire Care Centre always come first for her. Mary has won a Spotlight Awards trophy and a €500 One4all Gift Card.
