Todays skill portion of our class program was rope climbs. Head Coach Martina dedicates 10 minutes of the 60 minute class to teaching, demonstrating and coaching the athletes how to safely perform a rope climb and also the progressions for new members so no matter what level they are at or how long they have been training they can perform a modified version to suit their current abilities. Our experienced coaches are always on hand to direct each and every client on the proper way to train and perform the movements correctly so every client gets the most out of their training and stays safe and well while doing so. We have one of the largest and best equipped functional fitness facilities in Ireland with over 6000 square feet of training area filled with every type of training equipment you could possibly need. We also have ladies and gents dressing rooms with shower facilities. 5. We run up to 6 classes per day from 630am to 830pm with plenty of variety ranging from our standard CrossFit classes to Olympic Weightlifting classes, bootcamp and HIIT classes and open gym in between. 6. We regularly hold social occasions and charity events to build and sense of community and also to help other people who are less fortunate than ourselves. 7. Martin signed up to CFW 8 months ago and has been improving ever since, check out his story so far. Name : Martin English Age : 31 Occupation : tech support worker I have been doing CrossFit for 8 months now. I saw an add for a promotion on CrossFit Waterford and it looked like a place I would like to train so I signed up. Before starting here I used to play GAA since I was really small but found it much harder to train and make matches over the last 2/3 years so I stopped. Since starting at CFW ive lost weight, my moods have improved and I have way more energy in everyday life. My favourite types of workouts are anything new that challenges me, I also love the team workout on fridays which are really challenging and good fun. I love that the coaches care about each and every member and don’t walk past and watch you do something wrong, they always show us how to use proper technique with weights and other movements so we dont injur ourselves. The knowledge each coach has is incredible! I also love the community of people which it’s nice to think I am a part of. If i need advice, help or motivation there is always some one there for me. I also love the fact that every workout can be modified so no matter what your level of fitness you can take part. My advice to any thinking of joining CrossFit Waterford is to just do it, don’t be afraid to engage and ask questions. I found it intimidating walking into the gym but the guys there will look after you and make u a better more confident version of what u are.
