An unusual one for our team. We just completed this in the carrig an ard area of Waterford city. We have previously done lots of similar type jobs with removing timber stud walls and fitting back to back sliding wardrobes. Thus creating a huge amount of storage and gaining floor space which can be all seen on previous videos. What's unusual with this one is what's fitted behind the last door. You'll proably say why would you put that in your wardrobe so here's the little back story to it. I was approached by a lovely couple who are living in a three bed semi with four young kids (All girls). Wardrobe space was an issue but keeping the 2nd shower was also a must as any man living with one woman let alone five would tell you. So the challenge was accepted and the video shows the end result. I'm thinking a fish tank in the middle unit of a sliding wardrobe with a clear glass panel in front of it would be pretty cool. Anyone fancy it? What the craziest thing you could think of to put into a sliding wardrobe. Maybe a fold out bed could be a great space saver in a spare room. We get tagged alot in posts to do built in beds over the slope of the stairs in the "box room" . Its not something we do but here's one we got roped into before 😉. It might give ye some ideas as to what to show someone if you are looking to get it fitted. Personally I thinks it's an easy way of doing it and most effective. .First we removed the box, exposing the slope. We then fitted our two deep drawer units side by side just outside the slope. We continued by boxing in the slope. (a dummy drawer front could of been fitted on blank section if required) .on the wall behind the bed we covered it with a white 18mm panel and had floating shelves fitted as a feature. (Socket in the centre for lamp, charger etc) .for the bed itself we simply got an old bed frame and cut the legs off and painted it white to match the drawers. A few things to note. We kept the bed a bit away from the wall to allow for the duvet to be tucked in at the side. Also because the drawers are so deep when opened fully they would rub off the floor. We fitted a scooped handle drawer front to the bottom to allow to lift while opening drawer in and out. (An alternative would be to fit as four drawers). Hopefully this might give people a few ideas as how to go about fitting a bed over the slope in bow room with out running into to much cost.
