Clever Clogs Montessori is privately run and situated within St Damian's NS in Dublin 12. We are open 5days a week between the hours of 8am and 2.30pm. Clever Clogs Montessori School was established in September 1998. We are a privately run pre-school situated within a National School in Walkinstown. Over the past 15 years we have had the privilege to work with over 250 children.
We are members of Early Childhood Ireland and also participate in the ECCE scheme.
In Clever Clogs we follow the Maria Montessori method of teaching. The children are encouraged to be independent and to learn at their own pace.
Our curriculum is based on the following five areas:
Sensorial Exploration - teaching through our senses e g touch, smell etc.
Practical Life - teaches the children how to take care of themselves and their environment. e.g. how to dress themselves, prepare food, tying shoe laces, pouring and spooning exercises etc..
Mathematics - gives children a concrete understanding of numbers, growth, sequence and the decimal system.
Language and Phonics - enables the child to develop a rich and extensive vocabulary and the skills to analyse and understand the alphabet.
Culture and Nature - gives the child knowledge about the environment, their community and the world they live in. It is taught through arts and craft, dance, music, history, geography and zoology
We also have a physical education class each week, and hold festive parties throughout the year finishing off with our annual school trip.

Beep Beep Week 2nd-6th Oct (road safety awareness) In our Montessori, the children will be learning about how to be safe when outside including how to cross the road, traffic lights, lollipop lady's etc we will finish the week with traffic madness on Friday where the children can bring in bikes/scooters/ride on toys Looking forward to a busy fun filled week, fingers crossed we get some nice autumn weather to get outside as much as possible. 👫🚗🚓🚕🚴🚦
Montessori parents - we will be holding our PE classes each Tuesday and Thursday from next week onwards please make sure your child wears runners in these days. Thanks
Before and after school clubs will RE-open on Mon 4th Sept. Before school club is open from 7:45daily and the children are brought to their classrooms at 8:50. Children in 3rd-6th classes can go out to the yard at 8:35 with written permission from parents. After-school club runs from 1:30-2:30 daily for junior and senior infants. We are having a teddy bear picnic🐻 in summer camp☀ tomorrow so don't for get your cuddly toys and please make sure children have sun cream applied as we hope to get out and enjoy the weather as much as possible 👬🐻☀🏕👭
Don't forget to return your summer camp forms into room 5 along with your deposit to avoid disappointment as places are starting to fill up quickly 🌻🌸🏖☀
We are holding a teddy bear picnic this Friday 16th June. Children can bring in a soft/cuddly toy. Normal lunch is required. If the weather is good we will hold the picnic in the grass area of the yard however if it is raining we will have it in the school hall. Looking forward to another fun event :)
Summer camp forms will be available from Monday :)
We are having so much fun on our school trip in playzone. Even the teachers and volunteers have had turns on the slide and zip line. We are just about to leave and will be back to school at 1pn
