What a wonderful occasion it was today, as eight of our pupils received their Confirmation in St. Mary's Church, Knocknagoshel. Every one of them performed their duties perfectly and we were all very proud of them. We hope they had a most enjoyable day with their families. A special word of thanks to Miss O Shea for all of her work preparing the children for the sacrament over the past few weeks. Thanks also to the parents for their help and support. Thanks to the 1st-4th classes for their beautiful singing and music in the choir. It greatly enhanced the ceremony and received lots of praise from Bishop Ray.Thanks also to Fr. Gunn for his guidance in preparing the children for today.

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again! We had another go at making St. Brigid's crosses today and everyone got to bring one home. Maybe the parents could try making them at the weekend with the help of the children. It's important to keep old traditions alive.

The weather is always a good topic for discussion so we thought we would use it as our theme for Aistear this week. There was certainly no shortage of creativity around after the holidays. There were sunny day pictures, a tsunami made of lego, snow scenes made out of marla and weather reports of red alerts and storms. First and second class have also been researching earthquakes, mudslides, avalanches and sandstorms. Some budding meteorologists in the making!!
