Spraoi Music is a new music tuition service, which firstly acknowledges the natural inner music in the human body. Introducing Orff Schulwerk to Kerry. Spraoi Music is a brand new approach to teaching music in Kerry. The classes will be run by Martina Ryan Murphy (Egan), who has over 30 years of experience in teaching children and also working with many choirs throughout the county. She is choral director with Opus'96 Chamber Choir, Our Lady & St Brendan's Parish Choir Tralee and Ardfert Singers Ladies' Choir.
Spraoi Music will introduce students to the wonderful world of the "Orff Schulwerk Approach". It is an exciting and fun-filled method of learning music. It was devised by the composer Carl Orff in the 1920's.
It combines music, movement, drama and speech into lessons that reflect the child's world of play.
The Orff approach is used extensively throughout the world to enable students to experience the learning of music in a friendly, natural and comfortable environment.
Students of all ages will discover rhythm through their own natural instincts, and as such, the most basic form of communication. The students learn to find their own voice, discover speech pattern, play on percussive instruments such as xylophone, glockenspiel, hand -held percussion instruments. They can become involved in learning to play Handbells, Baroque Recorder, Sing, Recite, Play Games, Chant, Dance, Clap, Pat, and Finger Snap......the choice is endless using melodies and rhythm.

Spraoi Music also offers music lessons on Electronic Keyboard for individual or group tuition (NOT MORE THAN 4 STUDENTS PER CLASS).
