With this weekend being the first of a few bank holiday weekends in close succession and being the biggest Irish celebration of the year it's a chance to let your hair down 🙌🏻🙌🏻💁🏻♂️💁🏼 . . However our advice is don't lose sight of your goal 📝 With many people having a Monday off work throws them out of routine not just for that day but also for the week. This trend can be also seen when it comes to your fitness goals. Missing a Monday workout for many will often lead to missing the rest of the week, the old "sure I've missed Monday, no point going in Wednesday" mentality 🙈🙈 . . Our favourite analogy for this is if you had one flat tire would you go ahead and slash the rest? No, so why do it with your fitness goals? . . Going out the weekend having some extra food and a few drinks will not ruin all your progress, it may slow down your progress for that week but it won't undo all your hard work, as long as you get straight back on your plan as soon as possible 💪🏻💪🏻 Getting a session in Monday/Tuesday will allow you to burn off a few of the extra calories consumed and help keep you on track for the rest of the week. . . Don't forget we are open Saturday and Monday 9-11am to get your bank holiday sessions in. ❌Don't fall into the cycle ❌ . . So we have all been there spend the week eating really well then boom the weekend comes and we feel we deserve to treat ourselves for a great week of dieting 🙌🏻🙌🏻 . . If this sounds like you then listen up 👂🏻👂🏻 Restricting yourself all week by putting yourself in a calorie deficit then going out the weekend and eating in a calorie surplus WILL put the brakes on your results 😱😱 . . Now I'm not saying don't treat yourself for a job well done. But a much more beneficial approach is to limit and control your treats and hold yourself accountable for your intake. 👏🏻💯 . . Underestimations are quite common when it comes to the weekend 😐😐 5 days of good eating won't out weigh 2 days of bad eating 😩😩 . . Are you motivated? . After speaking with clients over the weekend with regards to the week ahead, and motivation levels are at an all time high after a few days of being stuck in the house. . So let's break down motivation. What is it and how do we get more of it. Motivation has been described as the reason for people's actions, desires and needs. So let's break this down and apply it to you, firstly we have to have a desire or need e.g I need to lose weight for health reasons or on the flip side I want to look good for the beach this summer. So now we have a need/desire next we need to take action. Jumping out of bed at 5.30am to go work out feels alien and unachievable for some but remember once it was alien to the people who do it. . Motivation can be thought as a cycle, your thoughts influence your behaviour, your behaviour influences your performance and your performance influences your thoughts. So what does this mean for you? We're not expecting everyone to be up at 5.30am 😂😂 However what we suggest is find the time in your schedule, have a goal in your mind, take action and start a fitness programme, as you continue you will begin to see results which will make you feel more motivated and do the cycle starts again 💪🏻🙌🏻 .
