Luxury Guesthouse We like to think we're a little bit special and not your typical B and B. Where luxury meets comfort, think shabby chic, boutique and all things pretty.
Setting....
200 year old farmhouse, recently but tastefully modernised. With remaining ruins of Legan Castle (16th Century) on the courtyard and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Accommodation.....
We like to focus on quality rather than quantity. You will have a private entrance to come and go as you please. Cosy loft room with wood burning Stanley stove for those chilly winters' nights, equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, and direct access to private roof garden. Private secure parking and storage for items like canoes and bikes.
What makes us special....
Fresh cut flowers, scented candles, white bed linen, fluffy towels, roof garden, views, orchard, rose garden.
What to expect....
Complimentary daily newspaper. No hidden costs; unlimited wood for stove included.
Breakfast...
Prepared for a time that suits you before 11am each day at our large farmhouse table, where you will be left in peace to relax and enjoy breakfast at your pleasure. Freshly laid eggs from our free range hens, freshly pressed orange juice. Traditional cooked breakfast, or homemade granola with greek yogurt, we can rustle up anything you wish.
Optional Extras....
Picnic hampers full of fresh locally produced food, we can provide bubbly too. BBQ packs; homemade burgers, meat from our local butchers, fresh salads from the garden, and marshmallows to toast.
Tech...
We don't believe in sitting watching telly here, for those who really can't 'disconnect' there is free wifi.
Journey...
We are located less than 1 mile from Thomastown, under 15 mins from Kilkenny and 1hr 30mins from Dublin. We recommend a car to get around.
Pets...
Dogs can stay on request. Please contact directly prior to booking.
Please note that there is a dog, cat and hens living around the property, and although they have no access to your accommodation please take into account if you suffer from any allergies.

€50 Midweek (Monday to Thursday)

€60 Bank Holidays
Single Room Occupancy Supplement Surcharge (Contact prior to booking)
Minimum 2 night stay during peak times, or single night supplement, please confirm at time of booking.
50% deposit is required 30 days before booking

90% of the time I’m ‘Legan Castle’ ... but tonight im taking the night off. Hello, I’m Caroline, owner, curator, cook, cleaner, administrator, receptionist, gardener, jack of all trades... handy man. Sometimes I break things but most of the time I’m trying my hardest to provide a unique destination for all my guests. ‘We’ are 5 years old this week..and there’s been a lot of blood sweat and tears to get this far. You get to see the small, most prettiest parts of the tip of a HUGE iceberg, which mainly consists of very uninstagramable, and unglamorous part of keeping this small business afloat. There has been many, many bumps in the road, but my small business is going from strength to strength, thanks to all ‘our’ guests, many of which are visiting year after year. But here I am.. no top knot or apron in sight...nice to meet you 🖤
