You'd be surprised to hear that it's not the plans, sections and elevations that get my heart a flutter - although very important and they need to communicate the design. My favourite drawing is the site layout. Why? I'm always amazed at the difference from the beginning of the drawing, to the end. It can be the most dramatic of transformations.
