10:30 ******* Another beautiful photo of St Brigid's courtesy of Mrs Jolley taken after a day spent in the Community garden and a reminder that we are still here and that service will be at 10:30 each Sunday during August and that we are looking forward to All Saint's parishioners joining us.
Forget the gym, calories can be burned at St Brigids ************************************ We didn't manage to get all the gravel spread last night so if anyone has an hour free this evening from 7pm, please lend a hand.
Gravel ***************** Gravel is being delivered today to repair the driveways around the church and rectory. We are looking for people this evening at 7pm to help move and rake it. If you can help - we would really appreciate it, please let us know. Bring a shovel, rake or wheelbarrow if you can.

All Saints Church open as part of the DLRCoCo Summer of Heritage 2017 *************************************************************** Date - 1 July – 2 September, Saturday Time - 2pm - 4pm Location - Blackrock Cost - Free ALL SAINTS CHURCH - BLACKROCK Free Self Guided Tour All Saints church is a must-see building. Built in 1870, in the early English Gothic style, its design through the clever arrangement of its different parts creates the appearance of a building that has grown organically over time. The church seems to be larger than it is, and this impression is echoed in its interior which is light, bright and dominated by the splendid exposed roof of trusses, purlins and rafters. The building is enriched by high quality Arts and Crafts furnishings dating from the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries: excellent stained glass, murals, high quality wood carving, and a mosaic backdrop to the chancel. The twelve stainedglass windows, dating from 1875 to 1925, include the outstanding examples of the work of Wilhelmina Geddes. There are extensive canvas panels painted by Brigid Ganly in the chancel and baptistery, and a long hand-knotted carpet made by the Dun Emer Guild runs through the choir to the altar rails. The interior has been described as “a veritable treasure chest of high quality church furnishings.” 2pm – 4pm Wheelchair accessible http://events.dlrcoco.ie/event/all-saints-church-blackrock
