What a difference a year can make! We’re delighted to show you a selection of photographs of the recently completed works at IT Sligo. The façade upgrades to Blocks C&D - the School of Business and Social Science - recognize and complement the existing campus, its buildings and architecture, addressing pre-existing legacy issues with the old 1970’s Buildings in IT Sligo. Large Basalt and Limestone clad openings frame the concrete structural grid, with structural elements over-clad in vibrant green panels - giving the building a new identity to the public façade. The addition of a dynamic vocal entrance to the North elevation is a visually striking feature that creates a new primary entry point and establishes a strong linkage with the North Campus. The overall attention to detail, quality of materials and ease of wayfinding have greatly enhanced the internal environment, whilst the introduction of two large rooflights that flood the circulation areas with natural daylight and the creation of social learning spaces along the corridors enliven the atmosphere within the school for both staff and students.
Happy Christmas from all at Rhatigan Architects - we wish you all a peaceful and happy festive season.
