facebook.comShankill Juniors enjoyed fantastic success recently with both the girls U-18 Class 1 team and the boys U-14 Class 2 team making it to the Finals in Malahide on 12th November. In the end, the girls were just pipped by a strong Sutton 1 team, while the boys were runners up to Greystones 1. Nonetheless, a stunning achievement for our club and a testament to the hard work and commitment of players, parents, and coach Derek Healy - well done all!

Many thanks to Nicole Le Saout Moments photography who took fantastic photographs for us on Junior Championships Finals Day last Saturday 4th November. Below is just a small selection to give you a flavour of the great atmosphere and camaraderie amongst players, supporters and organisers on the day.
Congratulations to all our Junior Championships winners and Finalists who concluded a week of terrific competition on Saturday last, 4th November. There were terrific matches throughout the week and again on Finals day demonstrating a very high standard of tennis currently amongst our Junior members. Indeed, our Junior league teams are enjoying great success at the moment also, - update to follow - but Shankill is definitely the club of the moment in the DLTC junior circuit... Many thanks indeed to all parents, supporters and organisers of the Junior Club Championships. Without your help and input this great competition during the mid-term break, would not have been possible.
Very best of luck this evening to our two Class Five Floodlit League ladies teams, both of whom have reached the play-off stage in their respective groups. One team will be playing at home while the second team travels to Sandycove in the hope of picking up a few trick or treats into the next round...Supporters most welcome. And best of luck also to all our Juniors who are currently involved in the club Junior Championships - have fun and enjoy! Finally, the deadline for the Ladies Turkey run (Sunday afternoons 2-4pm) is this Friday, so don't forget to get your entries in.
Congratulations to Shankill Tennis Club Senior League team, Class Five, who made it to the DLTC Finals in Templeogue today, only to be overpowered on the day by a very strong Castleknock squad, who fully deserved their win. All the same a great achievement and a very enjoyable day. Well done to Louise Walsh (Team Captain), Deirdre Morgan, Brenda Kilroy, Mary O'Grady, Veronica Casey and Susannah Kingston, to Cathy Grehan who subbed for Mary in the final, and to additional team subs Eunice Chapman and Sandra Cotter. And also contributing to the team success was the terrific support from the club, particularly during the play-offs, quarter and semi-finals and especially today on Finals day, when a strong supporters contingent from Shankill travelled to Templeogue to watch tennis in fairly chilly conditions. Official team photographer Rachel Donovan has captured some of the supporters below... Sincere thanks to all, and the club has the satisfaction of knowing that the team has been promoted to Class 4 for next years league.
