Welcome to our new restaurant here in Rush and we cannot imagine a more fitting venue than right here at Jack the Bachelors house. We are a seasonal restaurant and a sister restaurant of D'Vine in drogheda. What does seasonal mean for you, well just how it sounds - we shall change our menu with the seasons, bringing the garden of Ireland in Rush to life and on your plate.
Why D'Vine at Jacks? Well here was a famous smuggler who lived n Rush, Ireland, some say he was a pirate or even a 'robin hood' character-called Jack the Bachelor or Jack Field, whose real name was Jack Connors.
Jack's cave is still said to contain treasure, and one tale has it that the hoard is guarded by a green serpent (despite the well-known fact that St. Patrick dispensed with species in Ireland long ago!). The cave, say some, extends all the way to Baldongan Castle.
We instantly fell in love with the cottage and the history of Jack, and its because of this that we are delighted and warmed by the welcome we have received from the Rush community.
