Storm Eleanor: Weather warning in place. • Keep your animals indoors during bad weather, supply cats with litter trays and lead walk dogs outside to go to the toilet. • Check that your animals are micro-chipped (details must be up to date) and that they are wearing an ID tag and collar. • Ensure vaccinations are up to date, river water can increase the spread of disease, flood water may be contaminated. • If you have animals usually kept outside, make sure they have a secure shelter, food and water at all times. • If you have rabbit hutches outside bring them in to a shed or garage, strong winds may bring down trees, outdoor hutches are at risk of being hit by debris and of flooding. • In case of a veterinary emergency, have your vets number saved or written down, some vets don't provide on-site out of hours services so be aware if you need to travel to an unfamiliar location, have the directions ready before you need them.
