Side Sadddle Race – Kildare Ireland - March 10th 2018 - Official Announcement Generously Sponsored by Rathsallagh Country House In a show of support to the Art of Side Saddle; Punchestown Racecourse management have graciously given us approval to cross the racecourse to facilitate the race. Every member of the Kildare Foxhounds will attest to the reverence that is placed on the racecourse and is warned through shouts and threats’ as a hunt meet may pass; of the danger of just one hoof striking this hallowed turf. This is a big deal, side saddle riders please support. This race will replace the historic side saddle class. More details to follow. A warning from history; protect your breeds. The Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association are sponsoring a rug to the best Registered Irish Draught in each class, at our show on Saturday March 10th. With thanks to Kilkea Castle for their hospitality at a recent lawn meet of the Kildare Foxhounds at the newly refurbished Norman Castle. Entries Open February 1st.
