Local Charity, Voluntary Community group New Ross Lions Club was founded in 1986 and over the years we have served our community, many local organisations, causes, projects & individuals through fund raising & the giving of our members' time & expertise.
We are a group of Men and Women from our local community who meet 1st Wednesday each month, at the Brandon House Hotel, New Ross at 8pm.
New Ross Lions Club is part of a world wide organisation and while our club contributes financially to the International funds & projects such as Sight First, disaster relief for earthquakes etc, for the most part our work has a very local focus.
One of the headline successes of the New Ross Lions Club is the Dunbrody Famine Ship which is a product of the JFK Trust which in turn was born of a project started by New Ross Lions Club in the early 80’s to investigate the potential to develop tourism in the area. The initial board of JFK Trust were all New Ross Lions Club members.
Another success is the Meitheal anti bullying programme now available in all 2nd level schools in Wexford . Fr. Odhran Furlong set it up in one school and our club committed to fund the costs for 5 years which enabled him to expand the project to its present success.

facebook.comBUSY MORNING FOR CLUB PRESIDENT Following his visit to Good Counsel College next stop was St. Mary's Secondary School for presentation of New Ross & District Chamber vouchers to their TY Mock Interview winners. Club President congratulated all the students on their performances at the interviews and on their academic, sporting , musical and other achievements to date. In addition Myles thanked his fellow club members and other volunteers who helped in the project along with the teachers who coordinated the interviews.
MOCK INTERVIEWS PRIZE-GIVING Club President Myles Courtney presented New Ross & District Chamber vouchers to the Good Counsel College winners and runners up of the Club’s Mock Interview Project. The use of these vouchers is an acknowledgment of the contribution of local businesses to the work experience section of the Transition Year programme.

HEAT FOR THE HEARTH IN THE COLD WEATHER New Ross Lions Club recently presented two pallets of firewood to New Ross Meals on Wheels for distribution to elderly people in the locality. The distribution will be made with the kind assistance of staff members of New Ross Municipal District.
