Our preschool caters for children from 24 months to 5 years and our afterschool service caters for children from Junior Infants to 6th Class. Play and Learn is owned and operated by Allison Farrell; Allison has her BA (HONS) Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care and is currently undertaking an MA (Level 9) Degree in Leadership in the
Early Years and has experience both working in Ireland and abroad.
At Play and Learn Pre preschool & Afterschool we are committed to providing a pre-school service of the highest standard. We are notified to and inspected by Tusla- The Child and Family Agency.

Play and Learn preschool & Afterschool provides an excellent service for up to 75 children and aims to provide the perfect environment for children to develop their social, personal and educational skills and learn through a planned play based curriculum.

What a quick Summer it has been!!! Looking forward to seeing all of our preschoolers on Wednesday at 9.30am 😊 We are very excited about the year ahead and we cannot wait to show off our fabulous classrooms. The team have been working very hard getting organised and they will be putting some finishing touches to each room tomorrow and Tuesday in anticipation for our first day back 🎉💗

Dear Parents, we are now closed to set up for the coming year with fresh paint, new equipment and a new classroom - we are very excited! We re-open Wednesday the 28th of August for Preschool & Afterschool returns Thursday the 29th of August at the usual time of 7.45am! We look forward to the year ahead and I would also like to take the time to introduce you all to Michelle Cummins who is our new assistant manager! For many of you Michelle is a familiar face and a friendly smile when you enter Play and Learn everyday and I know she will do an amazing job! Is the Early Childhood sector at breaking point? by Sinead Matson & the Members of MECPI
An insight into the difficulties we are facing every day in the early years sector. It is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain any childcare or education facility in Ireland. Many creches and preschools have announced this week they will be closing there doors and not re-opening in September as new requirements were only emailed to us from Tusla and the DCYA this week - thankfully Play and Learn will continue on but with the continual moving of goal posts and lack of funding, who knows what the future holds for the early years sector in Ireland. I would ask you all to take a read of how difficult it is becoming and read many other service providers worries! The owners, managers & staff are being stretched further and further each year so please remember to thank them for all the hard work they put in, and remember a lot goes on behind the scenes, long hours and weekends are put in to ensure we provide the best service we can!
