During the lenten period - give up or take up? Why not get into the habit of walking...? So many health benefits from a simple walk... The recommendation amount of physical activity for an adult is 30 mins per day...why not build up to that by Easter? So here's our simple Walking Challenge.... Start small and take it from there... Week 1 - a five minute walk every day for 7 days (thats just 2.5 minutes each way!!)... Week 2 - 10 minute walk every day for 7 days Week 3 - 15 minute walk every day for 7 days Week 4 - 20 minute walk every day for 7 days Week 5 - 25 minute walk every day for 7 days Week 6 - 30 minute walk every day for 7 days And that's it!! You've done it! Simple as that to build up to a regular 30 minute walk... *life happens and things get in the way - if you miss a day, don't worry, just pick it up the next day again.... you won't have missed out on much but over time you will notice the benefits of the repeated habit.... By Easter Sunday and the bank holiday weekend you will be ready for the better weather and longer walks and a 30 minutes walk will seem simple... Walk your way to better health - so who's up for the challenge? #activemonaghan #sportireland #getirelandwalking
