LTI Logistics & Distribution started in September 2014 in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. Next course starts on 31/08/15 and will run until 08/07/15. Ballyhoura Development Ltd and Cork Education and Training Board run QQI (FETAC) Level 5 course in Logistics and Distribution.
Our course is designed for 44 weeks and consists of 8 modules.

1. Word Processing (Word 2013)

Get started with Microsoft Word. Main features of document creation and document editing from simple letters to books and manuals. Use graphics, formatting, use of tables, mail merge and labels, use of spell check and thesaurus. The class is suitable for beginners as well as for advanced users.  

2. Spreadsheets Methods (Excel)

Get started with Microsoft Excel.  Learn how to  enter data into cells, how to extend the spreadsheet, create excel charts, use math operators, functions and conditional logic. The class is suitable for beginners as well as for advanced users.

3. Customer Service

Learn how to deal with different kinds of customers, how to make a good first impression, meet customer needs, understand and respond to customer perception. Upgrade your written and verbal skill and learn how to use appropriate communication techniques.

4. Work Experience

Get 4 weeks work experience at a workplace of your choice.  Get an professional advice on how to write a eye-catching CV, and cover letter and prepare for a job interview under the supervision of a qualified trainer.

5. Warehousing

Learn about the function of the warehouse in logistics, examine principal types of equipment, storage and layouts.   Investigate various types of stock control systems, reports and procedures.

6. Inventory Control

Explore step by step the world of inventory management.  From the reasons why to hold stock to inventory policies, planning, forecasting demand, and pricing strategies .

7. Purchasing

How to source the best product for your company? Learn how to evaluate products and suppliers, investigate skills required to manage negotiations, explore basic legal  aspects of purchasing contract and get an overview  of the process from requisitioning to receiving goods in stock.

8. Freight Forwarding

Analyse the services given by freight forwarding companies, types of loads and transport.  Explore  import/ export documentation and the current policy in Ireland on transport and trade as well as  industry representative groups and associations.
