Wasn’t aware of this! So important to know!!

“87 percent of all kids killed by guns are American kids, and adding more guns to our communities will not decrease that statistic” As per a study in the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, among the world’s 23 wealthiest countries. “Arm the teachers” suggests Trump! How do we know a teacher wouldn’t lose their temper and pull a gun or more likely a student manages to access the said weapon? Without any doubt, access to all weapons in America needs to be regulated far far more rigorously, and swiftly and with zero tolerance. Assault weapons should not be available to civilians- simple as! This action should have been taken after Columbine in 1999 and there have been numerous horrors since. But Florida is different. Hopefully now Student and parent power will turn the tide but unfortunately the NRA and the weapons industry have Congress bought. It’s down to keeping the story current and the pressure on Government and not resting til it’s done. Here’s hoping!

C'mon Mayo. Thanks to my late parents, PhiIip and Breda Maguire, I had, along with my brothers, Philip and Kevin the privilege to board in St. Jarlath's College, in Tuam from 1982 to 1987. Our sister, Karen boarded later in the Mercy in Tuam. I pay tribute to all parents who sacrifice to give their children the best opportunities in life. The summons to our upcoming 30 year reunion has obviously gotten me all nostalgic. Today, I remember the great Padraig Brogan, arguably the finest Gaelic football player of my generation, Myself and my cousin David Maguire, had the pleasure to watch him, as first years, as he drove the Senior A team on to win another Hogan Cup All Ireland Final in Croke Park in 1982. He was our Lionel Messi! Great memories! Watch what he did to the Dubs in 1985 in the Mayo tradition. Sheer Magic! Mayo to win, it's their year!!!!!!!!
