All of us in St. John's Youth Theatre are so excited about our next production to be staged on Monday and Tuesday, the 24th and 25th. "A Holy Show" an hilarious comedy has been written by our very own Kaytlann Barry. Kaytlann has been a member of the youth theatre now for a couple of years and has been writing since a very young age. Several of her sketches and monologues have been staged by us in the past but now, at the age of just 17 (yes, 17) she has written her first full length play. "A Holy Show" is NOT to be missed. Packed with great characters and wonderful comedy, a great night out is guaranteed. I am so proud of her and of the cast for all the work that they've put in to make this production a success. And I'm predicting a "HUGE" success. Kaytlann is carrying on a proud tradition in Listowel and North Kerry, of writers and writing and she will be mentioned alongside the greats of the literary heritage that Listowel holds so dear. Her writing is very clever and challenges all of us to look at ourselves and how and why we maintain the status quo. She takes a quirky and sometimes cynical look at the attitudes and influences that have shaped us and the Ireland of today AND does so through the medium of comedy, which makes it all the more brilliant. So, to be really impressed and to celebrate the genius of a 17 yr. old girl, be in St. John's at 8pm on Monday or Tuesday night. You'll be disappointed if you don't because, in a very short time, securing tickets to see a "Kaytlann Barry" play will be very difficult indeed. Please come out and support the latest and youngest and arguably one of the best Listowel writers by booking on:068 22566.

Right. St. John's Youth Theatre are back with another epic production, beginning tonight, the 28th and again tomorrow night, the 29th. We have 2 one act plays; The hilarious "Creepy Corpse of Cal Capone", by our junior group and the powerful and evocative "Chatroom", by our senior group. These two plays are really challenging for any group but these fine young actors are more than equal to the task and breathe life into some amazing characters. So, to find out if Cal Capone can really ruin it for Remmie or will Pete save the day aided by a "Ghost", you'll have to come to St. John's. Likewise, you'll have to be there to learn about a plot to kill J K Rowling, what really happened to Britney Spears and how easy it really is to find yourself in danger on the internet. Show starts at 8 pm. Booking: 068 22566.

Right, we'e back!!!!!!!!!!!!! On Monday next, July 4th, the Youth Theatre are presenting their latest production, "Teenage Kicks", which takes a look at the life of a teenager. Through the medium of comedy and drama, we get a glimpse of what our poor and sometimes misunderstood, teenagers have to deal with in terms of school, relationships, fashion, peer pressure and of course......PARENTS. It is essential that all parents see this as, never having been teenagers themselves, they need to be educated and informed about this perilous time in the lives of our young people. On a more serious note, I am so proud of this production and of the young people involved because, for the first time ever, this show has been written entirely by the Youth Theatre. So, for an incredible night of theatre, come along to St. John's Theatre, Listowel, on Monday next, the 4th, at 8 pm. Because this show is: like.........OMG.......Like.....Totally awesome.......Like..........Totally. Booking: 068 22566

Okay! We're back!! The year just wouldn't be the same without another Cracking production from the Youth Theatre. And what a show we have this time. On Monday, the 16th, at 8 pm, in St. John's Theatre in Listowel "ONE HUNDRED YEARS LATER" is a look back at the events of 1916, through the eyes of today's teenage generation. A lot of what will be on stage is factual but what has been written by these young people themselves, is a very interesting and thought provoking take on this subject. While accepting that the events of '16 did lead to an independent Ireland, they have focused, primarily, on how this rising and all armed conflict, impacts on ordinary citizens. I am so proud of them. You will not want to miss this! Book your tickets now on, 06822566.
