Trout and salmon magazine Remember the fish kill we had on the loobagh river a few years ago since then the club went too the limerick county council too look for funding in 2015 we were successful and the o.p.w carried out work on the loobagh too improve the river by putting in rubble mats some new gravel for the spanning fish. We also put in some new vortex weir and paired deflectors and random placed boulders. Tony carmody a writer for trout and salmon magazine hear about our story so he came too kilmallock for a days fishing. Myself and michael garvey took them out on the river for the day because we're the best looking anglers in the club 📷📷😂😂😂we had a great day out with the boys ...fishing was tough and we managed too catch a few for the camera. Hopefully in a few year this work that was carried out will become a great place for trout and salmon too thrive once again on the loobagh. Id like too thank all the club members who stood up for the river loobagh ye should all be proud of what was done and hopefully the work will continue on in the future so that our childrens children can enjoy this fantastic little river that we have. For me since the fish kill in 2014 iv learned so much about rivers and stream works but one thing iv learned is that im so lucky too be surrounded by great people in kilmallock and kilfinane angling club who will always give there time too the river loobagh. Have a read of the story tony carmody did a fantastic job. Tight lines🎣🎣🎣
