We have found the truth about Starbucks in Ireland ... Can you think of someone you know who smokes 20 cigarettes a day? In one week, that person pays more tax on their cigarettes than Starbucks pays on all its activity here in Ireland -- €45 according to the Irish Sun. The argument that “you have to give them tax breaks, or they’ll leave” falls flatly on its face because this company doesn’t contribute a thing, except perhaps for the coffee from its profitable 50 stores which are not going anywhere. Starbucks sends its profits back out of the country and pays less tax than one heavy smoker, and we’re supposed to be grateful that it’s here ??? Hell NO!
