This is an introduction to the classification of animals. We will talk about which creatures became extinct and relate this to fossils. EASTER HOLIDAYS WE ARE CLOSED FROM MONDAY 27TH MARCH AND WE REOPEN ON MONDAY 9TH APRIL. Congratulations to all the children for their enthusiasm regarding our ZERO WASTE CAMPAIGN. They ask such interesting questions and show a genuine sense of responsibility. They give us hope !

I am in school now, too dangerous to open tomorrow. Reopen Tuesday. Sorry for hassle. Check Twitter @kilmacanoguens for my photos.Stay safe. Niamh Murray Message from NS principle

National School has confirmed that the school will be closed on Monday due to dangerous conditions.

Large volume of snow still present in Car Park and School grounds. This may prevent us from opening as planned to morrow morning. We are awaiting news from the National School for a decision. Hope you are all well.

And this has nothing to do with anything ... I just love the humour

Hope everyone is having as much fun as Isabel... ❄️☃️

🌲🌳🌴🌱🌿🍄🌷🌹🌸🌺🥀🌻 We are going to attempt an almost zero waste school over the next few months going into next year, to minimise our footprint as much as possible ... mini feets 😁 The children have already been washing their yogurt tubs for the recycle bin and putting fruit peels in for the compost bin and folding up clean wrapping to be reused .It has always been important to this school to teach respect for the planet and all it's species but with recent shocking and quite scary reports of the effect plastic waste is having on our planet it is now essential. We are doing this in small steps as they achieve a sustainable result . We are asking parents to not send in disposable plastic bottles or straws from Monday the 5th March Thank you in advance for your support... if anyone does not have a flask or reusable bottle we can provide filtered water in class xxxx

Happy Chinese New Year 🇨🇳 xx 2018 : the year of the dog... We have started making Chinese Dragons 🐉 with hand prints. Today we had a chop stick challenge . The challenge was to transfer noodle string and fish or vegetable from one bowl to the next , anyone who could do it won a pair of chop sticks . Afterwards the children tried eating lunch with their chop sticks. We have had circle time discussions about China and will be doing more related activities during the week x

Hello All x For anyone who has read the news letter incase there is any confusion regarding an additional member of staff in the school . Neither Isabel or Sarah are leaving and the position to be filled is immediate, for this year ..

Earth's Timeline : The Beginning , the children have repainted our Earth Table to show what the Earth looked like in the beginning. No people, no animals or birds or fish or even shops .. The Earth was very different back then .We have done a circle time on this subject and will be painting volcanos in art and craft time..
