I Weigh by Alana Donovan

Please take a moment to listen to the voice of our 6th Year student Alana Donovan - it is hard to decide if it is her voice, her song writing talent or her message which is more impressive. Alana says ‘I wrote this song for a social media movement called ‘I Weigh’, run by the actress Jameela Jamil. It aims to combat body shaming and unhealthy beauty ideals by asking women to share what they really ‘weigh’. Not just a number, but their strengths, flaws, and achievements. The song was posted to their Instagram page and gained thousands of views overnight'
