We'd like you to meet Trish. Trish has been practicing Yoga for over 25 years and teaching in gyms, offices and for clubs in Kilkenny for the past 7 years. She has a Yoga Teacher Training RYT200 from the Yoga Room in Dublin and in the last decade has completed a Certificate in Training and Development, Ballet Barre with Stott Pilates and Thomas Hannah Somatic Movement training. We are delighted to have Trish joining our team and know that you, our members, will make her most welcome. Her Sports Stretch Yoga classes are a strong and fun mixture of a flowing Vinyasa style for fluid movement, complemented with an alignment based Iyengar style for strength and stamina. Trish has taught many well known sports people from golfers to hurlers, jockeys and even strongmen who are now turning to yoga to bring balance to repetitively used muscles, improve focus, prevent injury and help with sleep! Boasting numerous gold medals representing Ireland in Kettlebells and powerlifting as well as ranking in the top 10 IN THE WORLD after the powerlifting world championships in Texas 2016. He has two clinics, one in Kilkenny and one in Limerick. The Limerick Clinic is situated in Castletroy and predominately helps patients try to prevent low back, hip or knee surgery. This clinic is by referral from only so unfortunately we do not accept new patients. The Kilkenny clinic specialises with people in their 40’s, 50’s and 60’s and active sporting individuals. He has lectured with Setanta College, Limerick Institute of Technology and has provided lectures and advice on functional screening and health for Athletics Ireland, Saracens Rugby, the Limerick Leader and the Kilkenny People. Dear All, Due to adverse weather conditions continuing, we will not be opening the gym today. All classes are cancelled today also. We are aiming to open tomorrow from 09:00, business as usual. We will inform you if this changes. Further updates can be seen by email, Facebook or Instagram As usual, please heed the warnings. Please do not travel if it not safe to do so. Please be safe on the roads if you are traveling. Just a few general pointers if you are going out in this weather. When leaving your house, be wary of a build up of snow on the roof. With high winds, this may dislodge and slide off the roof. You do not want to be under it. When walking on ice or snow, try to walk like a Penguin: Arms out either side, loose knees and feet turned out slightly. Be sure to wrap up in warm gear and wear proper foot wear. Clear the soles of your shoes regularly to ensure good grip. If you must drive, remember: ALWAYS wear your seat belt. Keep your distance from the car in front of you. If the car goes into a slide, do not heavy brake. Steer into the slide and pump the brakes. Drive in a higher gear and keep the revs low. Gently gently wins the race (gets you home safe). If you are taking your pet for a walk, remember that grit has salt and chemicals in it. This is toxic to your pets paws and can give severe burns. Once again our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused, our staff and members health and safety is our number one priority at TJ Reid Health & Fitness so, for today, fitness must take a back seat.
