Troytown GreyAbbey
Description
Equine Hospital and Diagnostic Centre TTGA is a veterinary ambulatory and hospital service for horses. We provide ambulatory veterinary service to local studs, training yards, riding stables and individual horse owners - for breeding purposes, routine health care and more in-depth health problems too. The mobile service is backed up by a large hospital service where all kinds of horse veterinary emergencies and detailed problems can be dealt with. The hospital has intensive care units for adults and foals, surgery facilities (for all sorts of things, like colic, wounds and wind problems), and specialised equipment for dealing with lameness problems - ultrasound, digital radiography, bone scanning (scintigraphy) and MRI scanner. The Facebook page aims to show a variety of interesting things, provide information for owners and managers and generally keep clients informed about what is current and important in horse veterinary services.

World-Renowned vet Stan Cosgrove died last Thursday at the age of 91. He was the founder of Troytown Veterinary Hospital in the 1970s. He was a veterinary innovator way ahead of his time. He had an international reputation in many fields including fracture repair and colic surgery. His veterinary legacy is still with us at Troytown. He was also a legend in Irish thoroughbred racing and breeding. He was a co-founder of the Racing Apprentice Centre of Education in Ireland and a founding member of the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association. May he rest in peace.

On the hottest day of the year so far... Congratulations again to Oisin Orr, Dermot Weld and The Aga Khan for winning the Troytown Greyabbey Equine Hospital Maiden Race at the Curragh yesterday evening.
Congratulations to Dermot Weld and The Aga Khan’s Studs for the winner of tonight’s Troytown Greyabbey sponsored race this evening at the Curragh - Kattani.
We had a visit today from UCD Summer School - future potential veterinary students who were fascinated by some of the patients in the hospital. They asked some probing, intelligent questions and were a real pleasure to give a tour around. Pictured in blue holding the horse is Felicity, who’s just finished 3rd year veterinary - she caught up with some of her friends who were assisting the summer school.
