Afternoon session and himalayan balsam. I haven't been out much in the day time lately, been mostly evening fishing but with the temperatures rising and good cloud cover, conditions looked promising so I decided to head out. I fished a long fine leader, small black klinkhammer with good success and around 15 fishing landed. Anytime I have been out fishing, I have been pulling himalayan balsam. This is an invasive species that is running out of control in some areas of the river. If anyone would be interested in getting a group together to try and remove some of the himalayan balsam, pm me and we'll try to organise something. Would like to deal with this sooner before the plant goes into flower. All the best. Simon
Hi lads and ladies just a quick question for the fly fishers in the club,so last night I witnessed a good fall of bwo spinners a number of fish responded to the natural, but I had a shocker of a night dropping fish left right and center with many more fish refusing my fly. My question is what are your tactics when faced with similar situations.
