AgriKids - helping kids to be farm safe!  AgriKids is for children who love all things agricultural!

My granny Kennedy always said ‘where there’s muck there’s luck!’  (Alma Jordan, Founder AgriKids)

I am a farmer's wife, mammy, daughter, sister, niece and cousin - farmers are all around me and I know how wonderful farm & country life can be.

That's why I'm all for promoting and shouting about the wonderful things to see and do on the farm and in the countryside.
But I also want share tips and advice about staying safe and knowing when to play and when to stay away!

2014 was the worst year on record for farm safety in Ireland.  Lets work together to help keep our farmers and families safe.

When you are out and about take care and be on the look-out for danger;
•   Machinery
•   Animals
•   Slurry pits and water
•   Poisonous substances

AgriKids is for children who love all things agricultural!

We want children to be able to explore and enjoy all the wonderful things about rural life in a safe and rewarding way.

We use entertaining stories and engaging illustrations to create awareness of the hazards that exist on farms and in the countryside.

My series of chidren's stories, 'Tales from Riverside Farm' are available online at www.agrikids.ie and in all good bookshops.  If you bookshop hasn't got it tell them where to find us!

FARM SAFETY CIRCLE E - Elderly: Mind our older farmers #farmsafety #summersafety Decreased mobility and reaction time are probably the biggest contributory factors to farming accidents to older farmers. Parents: If you have an older farmer living or working nearby take the time to help them with difficult jobs and make them aware of safety. Especially if: they are working with livestock on their own. their tractors and machinery are not well maintained. they have PTO guards broken or missing. they are taking risks fixing buildings and roofs. they need maintenance help around they yard and farm buildings
