Ooooby-Wicklow
Description
Local & organic mix of seasonal (summer/autumn) weekly fresh picked Vegetable box scheme with collection point in Glenealy (organic only option available) For the past 5 years, OOOOBY has been connecting consumers with fresh local food that's in season. We supply a local veg box in the Glenealy/Wicklow Town area.
The boxes are sold weekly, with members commiting to buy a box per week for the whole season. This allows us to guarantee the producers that we will buy a whole season of their crops, which helps them plan their season with the security that it is already sold before it’s even planted. We also mentor new producers in growing without chemicals.
As a community organization, OOOOBY is volunteer run, from working with producers, to sorting the veg, to delivering the boxes and doing the admin. Volunteers learn about local food and also can earn part or all of the cost of their own veg boxes from their hours.
OOOOBY’s goals are:
-to support and encourage more people to grow food locally
-to connect consumers and their local producers
-to raise awareness (e.g. how to process/cook/preserve what is in season, what the benefits of local food are, etc)

Yes if you guessed that the second Carraig in our box collaboration is Carraig na Muc Cottage you we're right! Place your order through Phil online at his website add a note saying Carraig Dúlra to your payment details and message us directly today or tomorrow to help us confirm details by 3pm. We will streamline this process as things develop. You can then pick up your box as usual at the farm on Friday evening or Saturday morning. Phil has created several options of size, price and local, along with options for some imported organic or you can make up your own box from individual items. Any items ordered (that are available) will be substituted from Carraig Dulra's gardens in your box. Looking forward to expanding the supply of great veggies to more customers so please share away!
