Movember, the month formerly known as November, is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health. Our names are Zara Sweeney and Bronn Conroy, and together we're known as 'The 2 Bellas'. We are both currently 2nd year students in DCU who are taking part in DCU's annual fundraising event Beg Borrow Steal. This event involves us using our good looks and charm to travel to 2 unknown destinations in Europe and then to Rome with absolutely no money. This event will begin on February 2nd and we will be racing against other DCU students in order to arrive in Rome first, and believe it when we say we're in it to win it!

So why are we taking part in this event?
Our main reason for partaking in this event is to raise as much money as we possibly can for Movember. This is an absolutely fabulous movement and it's aim is to prevent me from dying so young. It deals with the biggest health issues faced by men, such as depression, testicular and prostate cancer and suicide prevention. This is such an important topic because, while all of us have been greatly affected by depression and suicide in some form, many of us don't know that a shocking 1 in 8 men will die from prostate cancer in their lifetime here in Ireland. It's time we for us all to stand up for men's health and it's time to raise awareness.

When you make it to Rome with no money and end up getting a private room for €20. Thanks to everybody for the best wishes and support! Now time for pasta😍😍😍😍😍😍
Update: First team arrived at Rome following all checkpoints this morning at 6.20am. So we've decided to skip the next checkpoint and beg borrow steal our way to Rome! Thankfully to some wonderful people at home fundraising on our behalf we raised enough to get two flights! Now just to find money to get to the airport!

✨✨✨Update✨✨✨ Dominican College Griffith Avenue's Winter Woolies Day ❄️ On Tuesday December 6th we organised a Winter Woolies Day in our old secondary school, Dominican College. All students wore their cosiest clothes into school in exchange for €1. Along with the help of the brilliant Student Council we raised a total of €300 for the Movember Foundation 💰 ____________________________ So this donation means The 2 Bellas have raised a total of €851 for the Movember Foundation and we are slowly creeping up to nab the number one spot as the team who has raised the most money for charity so far! Thanks so much for all your donations and a special thank you to Dominican College for hosting the Winter Woolies Day ✨

Thank you so much to everyone who showed up to our Jolly Holly Pub Quiz in McGowans! We raised €235 on the night which bumps us up to €470 with loads more to come! You've all been wonderful and for such a good cause Movember Foundation Ireland! Keep an eye out for our future antics and congrats to our winners 'OH HOLY SHITE' and all our raffle winners!
