Canadian athletes, Gavin Smellie and Nikkita Holder, count on Immunotec products On April 23 the Canadian men's sprint relay team raced to gold in the 4x200‑metre event at the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas. Gavin Smellie, Brendon Rodney, Andre DeGrasse, and Aaron Brown crossed the line in one minute, 19.42 seconds — the best time in the world this year — to defeat the United States and Jamaica in this qualifying event for the World Championships in London this summer. Word of the relay team’s win quickly reached John Molson, whose R&D team supports numerous elite amateur and professional athletes, including multiple Olympians, because Gavin Smellie and track and field coach, Desai Williams, are both long-time users of Immunotec products. We caught up with both men at their training facility in Toronto. After congratulating them on the Bahamas win, we asked them to talk about the role Immunotec products play in their athletics. Desai Williams, a three-time Olympian who won bronze in the 4x100-metre relay in Los Angeles in 1984, discovered Immunotec in 2000.
