The Irish Heritage Trust: Bringing Places to Life

GREEN NEWS The Green Team are busy preparing for our annual Green Schools Day of Action. This year we will mark it with a Biodiversity Day on Friday March 3rd. This year we are going to colour it up a bit and ask all classes to wear a different colour of the rainbow: Infants (Junior and Senior): Red First Class: Orange Second Class: Yellow Third Class: Green Fourth Class: Blue Fifth Class: Indigo Sixth Class: Violet As usual we will have a variety of games in the school hall on the day and some information stations about Biodiversity and the impact of Global Warming on many of our species. This is an important day in the St. Seachnall’s school calendar and we ask everyone to continue to make the great effort which has been evident over the years since the Green Schools initiative started in 2005. All participation is very much appreciated and we endeavour to make a fun and educational day for all the children. The day itself will be a ‘Car Free Day’ and everyone is asked to do their best to leave the car at home or ‘Car Pool, Park n Stride, Scoot, Cycle or Walk on the day. The day will finish with our yearly Fashion Show which the children always enjoy. Costumes are to be made from recyclable materials and this year the theme is solely ‘BIODIVERSITY’. Over the years we have seen tremendous effort from pupils and parents and I have no doubt this year will be no different! So get the thinking caps on and start planning those costumes as there will be great prizes on the day. It's Back 👍🏻 yes our fabulous healthy eating programme Food Dudes is back in St Seachnall's March 1st - 23rd . The school need help to roll this out to each classroom every morning . Can you spare 20 minutes any morning Mon-Fri over those few weeks . We need at least 4 parents to sort out the food in the morning for the children . Dear Parents/Guardians, Over the past few years, we have found that not all our parents are getting information regarding events run by the parent association when help is greatly needed. We are hoping to run a new class representative system within the school, to provide better communication. It will require two parents from each class becoming their class representative. When there is an event been held the Parent Association will contact all reps and ask them to forward the information to each parent in their class? This can be done by talking in the yard, or by text. It is a simple as that. So what is the next step? If you feel you are in a position to become a representative for your child’s class, please tick the box below. The Parent Association will also need your mobile number even if you are unable to become a rep. This number will be given to your child’s class rep, for use only on events regarding the Parent Association. You can reply with the information requested below to either our Gmail account at parentassociationstseachnallns@gmail.com or sign below and return it to the Parent Association box in the school by the end of January 2017. When the system is set up, all parents will be notified of their class rep. Thanking you again for all your continued support.
