MATCH REPORT DIVISION 3 LEAGUE 22/04/2018 LANN LÉIRE 1-10 SEAN McDERMOTTS 1-06 Lann Léire maintained their winning run in Division 3 following a home victory over Sean McDermotts on Sunday. Lann Léire were the dominant team in the first half, after which they led 1-07 to 0-03. Full forward, Paul Callan scored his sides goal after fifteen minutes, with minor players, Pierce Hawkins and Killian Gregory contributing a couple of points apiece in the opening moiety. Sean McDermotts kicked a number of first half wides and only got on the scoreboard in the twenty seventh minute. They closed the half with the last two scores. Colin Murphy kicked a point for Lann Léire at the start of the second period and Killian Gregory added two more points later in the half to give Lann Léire a comfortable lead, 1-10 to 0-04, entering the final ten minutes of the game. However, the villagers were nearly made to regret some wayward second half shooting when Tony Kelly followed up a couple of late Sean McDermotts points with a goal on fifty eight minutes to leave the Seans just four points in arrears. They were unable to add any further scores though and Lann Léire were happy to hear the final shrill of referee Tommy McEnteggart's whistle. Lann Léire team and scorers: John King; Thomas Doyle, Paul McGeough, Caoimhin Maher; Gary Monaghan, Ian Mulroy, Briain McGuinness 0-01; Andrew Dowd, Pierce Hawkins 0-02; Alan Murphy 0-01, Colin Murphy 0-02 ( 1 free ), Killian Gregory 0-04; Paul Doyle, Paul Callan 1-00, Bob Murphy.
