My approach centres on providing individualised, ethical, effective treatments to my patients. As I work full-time in the private sector, without commitments elsewhere, I am in a position to offer a high level of personalised care. My goal is always to provide the level of service that I would be impressed to receive as a patient. I realise that when someone chooses me as their surgeon, they are placing their trust in me, and I take the responsibility that this confers very seriously. Clear communication, a collaborative approach to decision making, and commitment to long-term follow-up are just some of my guiding principles.
I see patients for cosmetic, reconstructive, and laser surgery. I also offer minimally-invasive and non-surgical treatments. I have received formal, recognised training in all aspects of my speciality, including time spent on internationally-recognised fellowship programmes in the UK and the Netherlands gaining experience and qualifications in aesthetic surgery and lasers. I am the only plastic surgeon practicing in Ireland who has undergone such extensive training in medical lasers. I have undertaken this level of training to allow me to offer the best care to my patients, and will never offer to perform a procedure that I do not believe in.

Did you know anybody can purchase a laser and start treating clients with absolutely no qualifications whatsoever? These are powerful devices, with the capacity to do great damage as well as good. It's heartening to see the BMLA (British Medical Laser Association) making a step in the right direction & I look forward to hearing these standards in detail at the upcoming meeting. In the meantime, those of us who do any sort of aesthetic work continue to work in a totally unregulated industry, in which patients' health and wellbeing are constantly at risk. The sooner mandatory standards are introduced, the better.
